~Drossel Walks~

Simple animation test to check the new character rigging. :)

Figure is Drossel [link] from a paid commission I am doing the character rigging for. I was told it was modeled by NEETW0zI, who doesn't seem to have a gallery here. Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!

You don't have to wait - both Honda and Toshiba have impressive walking/talking robots they have been showcasing for years. For the Honda one, check for "Asimo" at YouTube. ^___^

Those robots are already on the 5th generation, so they are not new. :)

I wonder if robots get so advanced there will be a ghost in the shell?

I believe the Ghost in the Shell is a collection of data in which forms a consciousness, allowing the robot to think feely.
While it never made big news, it IS thought to have already happened at least once, where a robot that's only task was to throw a ball (it was an arm and hand robot) pulled itself off its table, destroying itself from the fall.
It was not programmed to know how to move itself, so there was no reason they had to secure it to the table.

Clearly something went wrong, either it malfunctioned... Or there was a consciousness within it.
What do YOU think?
