~Jerome, AZ~

This is one of the coolest places in Arizona. Located at the top of a mountain, this little ghost town from the old Gold Rush era has been barely hanging from narrow cliffs since the late 19th century. Check the narration button at the lower left corner for more information about the place.

As a side note, the place was crawling with people while poor me was trying to shoot the panorama photography. Some people simply have no respect for photographers and decide to stand right in front of my camera as if I were not there with a big tripod and mounted camera trying to make a rather complex shooting sequence (duh!). Timing is of the essence when shooting photos for panoramas because the lighting conditions change quickly on cloudy days like that. Some people are just unbelievable... O_o;;

All photography, panorama stitching + projection, multimedia AS3 programming, and music composition by me.

Yes, it was educational to learn the local history directly from a local resident... from 1882! :D

My favourite bit about this is it keeps saying 'ghost town', and some of the cars and people are semi-translucent

The place has plenty of art galleries and shops. It has been like this for the last 10 years, so it might have been a while since you've been there last time. :)

Hehe... Ghost people and vehicles are inevitable side-effects when shooting panoramas at crowded places. To avoid such things, cameras should come with a "freeze time" button, so nothing would move until all the over a dozen shots were done. ;p

:rofl: Yeah I didn't see any ghost images of people walking around.

Ah well, I saw your comments and gotta love some people don't ya?

Oh you might notice some people show *multiple* times in the scene, and some other people are translucent in broad daylight. :XD:

And indeed, some people are unbelievable. They see a photographer stationary with a mounted tripod trying to frame something and they come wondering and stop right in front of the camera for the longest time, ignoring me completely!! Grrrr! ;p

Fantastic!!! This 360º view really gives me a feeling as if I was there. This had to be too hard and stressful take all this photos in order to get a right view.

(my english is terrible)

Did you use TextAloud or Loquendo for the female narration? I think that you should put more "commas" to control voice's speed.

Anyway, this is great.

Muchas gracias! The only stressful part of panoramic photo shooting is the annoying people who have no consideration for the work of photographers and just stand right in front of the camera, blocking the view, while pretending not to see me. O_O

I used TextAloud and Acapala female voice. I think the narration commas are fine, but I had to speed up the reading to save on file size and reduce loading times. ;)
