~Oklahoma Beach, NY~

I was in this business trip in New York back in 2002 and I took the opportunity to take pictures of some places I have visited while there. One of them was in the big lakes, Lake Ontario. It was late November and cold like it will never be here in Arizona. I think it feels especially cold and windy close to the lakes anyway. I found this little spot called "Oklahoma Beach" at the lake shore that looked nice for a 360 degrees panorama.

Photography, panorama stitching, Flash programming and music composition by me (hohoho, take that)! Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!

Thank you, glad you liked it. To make a 360 degrees panorama you start by taking consecutive pictures in one directions until you come back to the starting point, leaving some overlap between the shots. Next you "stitch" all the photos together (2 at a time) using a paint program. The trick is to take the photos the fastest possible to avoid having the lighting conditions changing before you take the last shot. That is actually what caused the dark seam you see in this panorama - I was not fast enough. :)

You're welcome! It has been a long time I wanted to post my panoramas but not as photos. I wanted them to be interactive, so in the end I ended up writing my own viewer and this is the current version (with music). :)

these panorama's are realy cool. this place looks neat, especially compared to charrlote beach where I live(it's one of the worse beaches on lake ontario).

The weather changes amazingly fast other there. It was nice at one time but as soon as wind starts blowing, the ground under me started freezing almost immediately. O_o;

Well thanks! For some reason my panoramas get *very* little attention, probably because the rest of my gallery is about people, not places. ^^
