~Heavy Metal Kitty~

This is a 3-parts deviation, so I will comment each separately:

* Music: This 47 seconds solo was inspired by my idol guitar deity Joe Satriani. There were a couple of mistakes on the last solo (Rockit Bunny), so this time I slowed it down to more manageable 120 BPM and switched to heavy metal style. To fit that style, this time it's only 4 tracks with solo + rhythm guitars, bass and drummer, again in the key of "C" (my fave). I've spent more time mixing the 4 tracks to produce a balanced and better equalized final version. I actually tried to create an equalization like that of Joe Satriani tracks from my CDs (he's so good!!!). ^^

* Web programming: My visual AS3 music player was slightly customized to merge with the background. I created it parametrically, so it was rather quick just changing a few parameters and voila! I made the sound waves solid this time for a more sticking visual. It is interesting to note how heavy metal obliterates the waves because of the pedals settings!

* 3DCG: figure is V4 with my "Animal Xpression Props" for the posable cat ears and tail. Rendered with way more lights than I am used to because I wanted this to be a brighter picture. It was rendered with by-material ambient occlusion combined with IBL + HDRI, which takes longer to setup than to render. Used mapped shadows to cut down rendering time but still had to raytrace the ambient occlusion, though that's not as bad as raytracing shadows thanks to AO optimizations provided by Poser 7.
